Golf

Harold Riley was introduced to golf by his younger brother Michael, who was a scratch player. Attending the Open Championship at St Andrews by accident in 1946, he became enthralled by the game. In 1959, at Royal St George’s, he first saw Jack Nicklaus. He was fascinated by him and subsequently made a comprehensive record in drawings and paintings of Jack Nicklaus’s career, becoming in the process a friend of the great golfer. As a result of his golf studies and paintings of tournaments and courses throughout the world, Riley has become known internationally as probably the most famous painter of golf
